N613AM: Zenair Alarus CH2000
Zenith aircraft is well known for its kit built airplanes, and for a time they offered a standard airworthiness, fully FAA certified airplane. That plane was the Alarus. Due to its small size and engine, N613AM is surprisingly fuel efficient making it perhaps the most cost effective certified airplane available today. With a standard suite of analog instruments, a Garmin 430 GPS, and 2 seats, the Alarus is an excellent option for learning to fly, building hours, or getting an instrument rating, though probably not the best choice for long distance overnight trips.
