About Concordia Aerospace
and Education LLC
Mission Statement (why does Concordia exist?)
To mentor pilots in their pursuit of becoming safety conscious and efficient team players wherever they go, who are ready for anything, and inspire others to be the same.
Core Values (a Concordia pilot...)
- Safety: understands that although no flight can be perfectly safe, risks are mitigated to the highest degree possible, with safety of flight prioritized above all other goals, even if that means canceling the flight
- Thoroughness: carefully researches weather, NOTAMs, aircraft performance, and all other details before, during, and after each flight to ensure nothing is forgotten
- Inquisitive: researches what they do not know, asks if unsure of something, gets a second opinion, but never takes a chance unnecessarily
- Integrity: operates with honesty, following rules and exemplifying these values at all times, especially when no one is watching
- Respect: is attentive to the needs and care of all people to the best of their ability, treating others even better than they expect to be treated themselves
- Responsibility: has a healthy respect or even fear, for the great privilege they have as a pilot and never takes it for granted
- Excellence: strives to improve continually, looking to far exceed the minimum standards
What does Concordia Aerospace and Education mean?
Concordia is a latin term which refers to a state of agreement, harmony, and, ultimately, peace. A pastor in Concord North Carolina (ironic isn’t it) once defined it as being of one heart with another. Concordia Aerospace and Education LLC was not founded with the goal of making money. Sure, it would be nice, but we know from the industry that there is no real money in flight training directly. That said, flight training is a chance to invest in people. We want to work as a team, in concordia with you, to help you achieve your goals in aviation. This is good for everyone because the entire industry relies on good pilots. This leads nicely to the next part of our name.
Aerospace companies typically develop systems for highly advanced aircraft and spacecraft. Although this is not what we do yet, this is exactly what we at Concordia would like to be a part of one day (and when we do, we will need good pilots). By putting aerospace in our name now, it gives us a long term goal of what we would like to become. Even now, we are working on an experimental amature-built aircraft which will hopefully be the first of many.
Education is our foundation. First and foremeost, Concordia is a flight school. We will continue to be a flight school until the company goes under or there is no longer a need for pilots because as long as the world needs pilots, they need to be trained somewhere. We would be thrilled if you chose to train with us.
